The Hypno-band System and Process

Stage 1: After the initial assessment your subconscious mind will be re-programmed to adapt to a healthier eating plan and lifestyle. All the suggestions re-programmed are things that you yourself have chosen from the initial discussion. Following the session you will be given a CD to listen to seven times before returning (this can be once or twice a day - therefore four-seven days after the initial session). This CD contains powerful re-programming techniques that will help change your subconscious behaviours and break down the poor lifestyle and eating habits that have become established in your life. Clients usually find this CD relaxing and you may find your trance deepening each time you listen to it as your subconscious mind tunes in and assimilates the material.

Stage 2: Providing the re-programmed suggestions have has the desired effect, you are able to go ahead and have the hypnotic gastric band operation. This technique is a simulated operation and has all operating theatre sounds, gown, equipment etc. to ensure your subconscious mind thinks it is having a real operation. Modern brain scanning methods show that just concentrating on a task stimulates exactly the same area of the brain that is active when we actually carry out any actions. So by thinking through the task it actually builds a new pathway in our brain as it would if we were actually doing it and therefore making the operation appear far more real. It is a very important factor for your subconscious mind to believe you have indeed had an operation, so it is preferred that you rest when you return home. A second CD is provided to listen to daily for 30 consecutive days and then alternative days until you reach your target weight. This further reinforces your focus on healthy eating and lifestyle and the suggestions re-programmed into your subconscious mind on your first and second sessions. I must reinforce and stress- this technique is a simulated operation and has all operating theatre sounds, gown, equipment etc. to ensure your subconscious mind thinks it is having a real operation.

Stage 3: Usually a week after the band is fitted you will return for a review to ensure you remain focused and that you have no problems with hunger, cravings or portion size. As the hypnotic gastric band was tightened during the simulated operation, there is usually no need to hypnotise you again at this point to enable the band to work more effectively.

Stage 4: This session is usually taken at a future time when there is a need to tighten the band e.g. such as post holiday etc.

Having the hypnotic gastric band fitted is a very personal service and it is important that you achieve your goal. The major aim of the system focuses on programming your mind for healthy eating of much smaller portion sizes, remove any cravings you may have and not feeling hungry. You are programmed so food does not dominate your life- you will eat to live not live to eat. Confidence, raised self-esteem & self-discipline so you feel content and have inner peace are also installed within the programme.

Things that you need to consider:

  • What behaviour or habits trigger you to eat?
  • What foods do you eat that you would like removing from your plan –those foods you know puts weight on you?
  • What foods you would like adding into your plan to make them healthy and more interesting?
  • Do you eat because you are sad, happy, lonely, bored, hyperactive, anxious, frustrated or angry?
  • Do you eat late at night or secretly during the night?
  • Where do you eat- is it in groups, alone, in bed, watching the TV, at work, business lunches, coffee breaks or whilst you are doing other things?
  • Why do you eat- because it is a reward, for companionship, something to do, compensation, to relax, to feel important, to feel secure, to feel better about yourself, for love or any other reason?
  • Do hormones, stress, or emotions play a large part in your poor eating?
  • Is this familiar – I can't stop thinking about food? I gorge food, I am a compulsive eater, I eat because….

This simple process enables you to look carefully at your eating habits and analyse what you are actually eating and doing and the reason for this by writing things down that you notice on a piece of paper over a couple of days. For example, one client said that when she was at work she had black coffee no sugar but at home she had milk and sugar in her drinks- why?
